Veronica wipes the face of Jesus

SIXTH STATION

Consider the woman standing watching Christ as he suffered until, unable to bear it any longer, she pushed the soldiers side and wiped His face with a cloth of fine linen. What courage did that simple action take knowing that she may be thrown to the ground and trampled on or even arrested? Would we have had the compassion and courage to do the same? How often are we guilty of turning away whilst others suffer simply because we are afraid of what involvement may bring?

PRAYER Lord Jesus so often it is difficult to be different, to stand aside from the pressure of our friends and do what we know to be right. Help us to seize the opportunities given to us each day to give witness to Your love in our world.
