Jesus Meets the Women of Jerusalem
EIGHTH STATION
"Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me, but weep for yourselves and your children." Meeting these women must have been a comfort to Jesus and not accusing Him, but Jesus points to the destruction of Jerusalem and to all the war and violence that will come upon humanity. Though He was Himself about to go through a tortured death that would bring liberation in the Resurrection, He knew that the trials and wars, poverties and oppressions of human existence would go on.
PRAYER Lord Jesus, thank You for the opportunities we receive to share Your love. Give us hearts of simple and undemanding love so that we may give of ourselves freely and generously, hearts full of Your love and peace.
