Jesus Falls a Second Time
SEVENTH STATION
Perhaps this was the worst humiliation, to fall under the weight of the shameful cross, to lose His dignity and show His weakness. Perhaps He would have liked to walk with head held high past and through the jeering crowd. But His legs gave way, He failed, He could not cope, bruised and sore, branded a criminal, hated and despised and in His falling, completely vulnerable, pitiful, crushed.
PRAYER Lord Jesus, the road You have mapped out for us is often long and arduous and we sometimes give up hope when the journey becomes difficult. Help us to rise above our difficulties and follow You with faith and confidence, for You are Lord for ever and ever.
