Robin Sutton
Robin Sutton was born on 7th November 1941 in Moreton, Wallasey. He is the youngest of five children, with a twin sister, Meryl, who died at the age of 33. Robin was educated locally and was received into the RC Church at St Alban's in 1960.
He was an active member of the Parish SVP conference from 1962-1980; president of Wallasey Liscard Council SVP from 1975-1980. He trained for the priesthood at the Beda College, Rome from October 1980 to June 1984; ordained to the Diaconate at St Paul's, outside-the walls, Rome in June 1983 and ordained to the Priesthood at St Alban's on 23rd June 1984. He celebrated the Silver Jubilee anniversary of his Priestly ordinantion in June 2009.
Robin served as an assistant priest at St Peter;'s Hazel Grove 1984-1989; Assistant priest and then Priest in Charge at Christ the King, Bromborough, at the same time being chaplain to Tranmere Rovers AFC from 1989-1992. Parish Priest at St Margaret Ward, Sale 1992-2007, and All Saints', Ashton-on-Mersey 1997-2007. He retired as a Parish Priest on health grounds in September 2007.
