William Walton 1867-1872
Father (Thomas) William Walton was born in Preston on 2 March 1830 to James and Hannah Walton. He was educated at Ushaw between 1843-54, being ordained by Bishop Brown at St Werburgh's Birkenhead on 24 August 1854.
Father Walton became Curate at Saints Philip and James, Stockport, between 1854-55, and was Rector at St Vincent's, (Altrincham (1855-58); St Alban's, Macclesfield (1858-62); Bangor (1862-67); St Werburgh's, Chester (1867-68); Liscard (1867-72). He died on 11 August 1872, and is buried in St Alban's graveyard, Liscard. Father Walton was also related to Monsigneur Peter Walton of the Shrewsbury diocese.
