Joseph G Walsh 1898-1922

Father Joseph Gregory Walsh was born in Liverpool on 17 November 1849 to Patrick and Ellen Walsh (nee Davies).  He was educated at Oscott between 1875-1879, and was ordained there in 1879.

Father Walsh became curate in St Albans, Macclesfield in 1879; St Josephs Stockport between 1879-1883; rector in Bridgnorth between 1883-1898 and finally rector at St Albans Liscard in 1898-1922. Fr Walsh was appointed Canon in 1910, but died at his sister's home on 8 February1922 at the age of 47 years from a variey of serious illnesses.
