Ambrose Lennon 1843-1868
Ambrose Lennon was born in Bolton on 11th February 1811. He was the son of Ambrose and Catherine Lennon, nee Waterhouse. He was educated at Ushaw from 1823-34 and ordained at Ushaw on 14th March 1835.
His first post was as curate at St Anthony's, Liverpool and from 1843-68 he was rector at St Alban's, Liscard. 1868-1872 he was rector in Newport, Shropshire. 1872-1876 rector in Wrexham. He was appointed to the chapter of Canons in 1852 and as Vicar General in 1867.
Fr Lennon died on 29th March 1876 aged 65 and is buried in the graveyard at St Alban's. A fine monument.
