Holy Land Pilgrimage: The Friends of the Holy Land Group are planning a Pilgrimage to the Holy Land from 7-14 May 2012 led by Fr. David. We will stay in Jerusalem and Galilee and visit all the main sites associated with Jesus' Ministry. We will also meet with the local Catholic Community to learn more about their very difficult situation. The cost of the Pilgrimage is £1,275 which includes direct flights from Manchester, half board accommodation throughout and all tours. Brochures and booking forms are available from Fr. David.-
Welcome back St. Peter: The statue of St. Peter has finally returned to its traditional place at the door of St. Alban's. It is now fully restored and repaired after the vandalism that damaged it last Autumn.
Noticeboards: A new up to date Noticeboard is now in position at St. Joseph's to replace the one blown down a few weeks ago. The Board at St. Alban's has also been updated to give the new Mass times.
Parish Pastoral Council/Development Group: The first meeting of the new group will be held on Wednesday 18 January at 7.30pm in the Meeting Room at St. Joseph's church.
St. Alban's Lourdes Sick Fund Coffee Morning: This will resume on Tuesday and can we once again ask for any surplus Christmas Gifts or any other donations which can be used for raffles to help with the fundraising.
Prayer before The Blessed Sacrament: Each Friday there is a Holy Hour at St. Alban's at 11.am. There will also be an opportunity to pray before the Blessed Sacrament exposed each Wednesday from 11.30am at St.d Joseph's. There is a basket in each church where you can place any prayer petitions each week. These will be placed before the Blessed Sacrament. The basket is in the Lady Chapel at St. Alban's and in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel at St. Joseph's.
St. Joseph's Lourdes Youth Group are again asking for surplus Christmas Presents to help with their fundraising towards the cost of helping with the sick at Lourdes. Last year was a great success for which they thank you. Items can be dropped off at church at any of the Masses.
First Forgiveness & First Holy Communion: We begin our meetings for parents and children who are due to receive these Sacraments for the first time towards the end of January 2012. Parents of Children not at St. Alban's School should obtain a letter and enrolment form from the Parish Office (Monday to Friday between 9am and 1.00pm)
Retired Priests Fund Special Collection: Today the annual Special Collection for the Retired Priests Fund is being held. Special envelopes are available for you to use. If you use weekly Offertory Envelopes, please can I ask that you write in your envelope number. If you give to your parish by means of a Standing Order, write in your name and full address (incl. Postcode). In this way it will be possible to reclaim the tax on your donation if you have joined the gift aid scheme. A leaflet is also available if you would like to make your donation by cheque, or if you wish to make a regular donation to the Fund by Standing Order and wish to take advantage of Gift Aid for your donations. Musical Sunday Fundraiser for Wirral MS Society: Sunday 29 January at St. Alban's Parish Centre. Doors open 2.00pm. Entertainment from Chris Cotton starts at 2.30pm. Adults £4. Children free. St. Alban's 200 Club: Recommenced 01/01/2012. Will members please collect their envelopes from back of church. If you pay half yearly or yearly please let us have your payment as soon as possible. St. Joseph's Winning Lottery Numbers for this week are: 1, 7, 8, 9, 10, 14. There are no winners and the Jackpot next week stands at £1,200. Tickets are 50p and can be purchased after Sunday Masses or from Campbell's Chemist, Maritime Grange, St. Josph's Parish Centre, Sandra Durose Hairdresser, Technique Hairdressers, Wynn Ellis Chemist, Gt. Float Club & St. Joseph's school.
St. Catherine's, Hoylake: A Mass will be celebrated here this Wednesday 18 January at 7.30pm for those who suffer with mental health, their carers and anyone who supports or works with people with mental health needs.
