St Alban's & St Joseph's

BRINGING TOGETHER OUR TWO GREAT PARISHES:  Nearly 12 months ago Bishop Mark asked me to take over the Pastoral care of Our Lady Star of the Sea and St Joseph's parish alongside my duties as parish preist of St Alban's.  When I spoke to the two parishes at that time I talked about the Bishop's desire that our two parishes be brought together as one parish under one parish priest with two churches.  We propose this process will be completed at the beginning of April and our two parishes will become the new parish of St Alban and St Joseph. 

The amalgamation of the two parishes will make administration simpler with just one set of registers and one set of accounts.  it will not alter dramatically the activiites of the two communities where the various groups will continue as normal unless those covering the same areas of parish life should choose to come together.  Our two communities are blessed with so many traditions as well as many gifted and dedicated parishioners; it is my absolute commitment to work with you all to develop those gifts and traditions and to provide for the pastoral needs of our two wonderful communities.
